Many authors publish where there is no feed at all: in a Telegram channel, on YouTube, on a page of Substack, Boosty, Fanbox, Patreon or Sponsr. That means a handful of extra apps and no single reading list. Readine spares you the trip to every service: you add a source by its link and read it alongside everything else.
A conventional reader looks for a feed address. Anything without a feed simply doesn’t exist for it: a channel in Telegram, a video on YouTube, author pages on Substack, Boosty, Fanbox, Patreon or Sponsr.
One of the ways around this is to rent a server, install RSS-Bridge and keep the infrastructure in working order. The job turns out to be harder than it looks: the setup falls apart on unexpected details, and the hardest part is parsing individual sites.
| What | A conventional reader | Readine |
|---|---|---|
| A site or blog with RSS | an excerpt; some offer a button to fetch the full text | the full text with images |
| A channel in Telegram | only the public web preview, like t.me/s | public channels and private chats |
| YouTube | no, or with a separate browser extension | a channel or a playlist by link |
| Paid blogs | no | the full text with images |
You add a source step by step: choose the type and fill in the fields. For Telegram it is the channel address; for YouTube, a channel or a playlist. For author pages on Substack, Boosty, Fanbox, Patreon or Sponsr, it is signing in to your account on that site and picking a paid subscription. You arrange paid access with the author directly, and payment stays on their platform. Readine reads what you have already paid for.
After that everything in Readine is the same: full text with images, offline copies, tags, notes, search and rules. An offline copy survives the author deleting the publication.
The archive does not depend on what the author later deletes or edits. Search covers the full text, notes and tags, so you’ll find what you need in old publications too.
A copy of the publication is kept even if the author deletes the original. You can set up export of files to cloud storage or to Obsidian.
Q: Do I need RSS-Bridge or my own server?

Q: Where can I read all of this?
A: Apps on iOS, Android, macOS, Windows, Ubuntu and a PWA in the browser. Read state, notes and tags sync.
