Publications on the topic come out in journals, author newsletters, channels and blogs, and there’s no way to keep up with that flow by hand. Readine gathers sources in one app: rules on words and tags keep what you need, and notifications arrive by name or keyword.
Research runs along several channels at once. A journal publishes an issue, the author writes about it in a newsletter, the discussion stays in a channel, and some publications appear only on a blog. Checking each of these places one by one is a chore, and something still goes unnoticed.
In Readine each such place has its own feed, and all of them live in one app: journal issues and preprints, author newsletters, channels, lectures, private blogs, new library acquisitions, new regulations and grant competitions. Publications arrive on their own, and unread ones stay in the source list until you open them.
You set the feed sorting yourself: “newest first” or “oldest first”. There are no recommendations and no “popular in the last day”.
Rules do most of the sorting for you. A condition on a keyword in the text or on a tag keeps what you need in the feed, and the rest can be deleted automatically or marked as read at once.
Notifications are set up with a separate rule: you specify a word, a topic, an author name or a document title — and a push or an email arrives. That is how you catch rare mentions and document changes that are easy to miss.
Rules and keyword notifications are separate paid modules: you can buy only what you need. There is no built-in AI, so your own tools do the prioritising and summarising on the exported text.
A publication is downloaded in full, with images, right in the app, so there is no need to go to the source site.
The archive survives the author deleting or editing the publication later. Search covers the full text, notes and tags, so you will find what you need in older publications too.
What you have selected is exported as files: to cloud storage as HTML or DOCX, or to the Obsidian vault as Markdown.

Q: Does Readine have AI for summarising?
A: No. The app exports the full text as files, and you can process these files with your own AI.
Q: Can I track only the documents I need?
A: Yes. A rule on a word in the text or a tag keeps the documents you need. A notification comes as a push message or an email.
Q: Can I follow grants and competitions?
A: Yes, if the foundation provides a feed. A rule on the terms (call for proposals, deadline, letter of intent, programme name) surfaces only the competitions you need, and a notification comes as a push message or an email.
Q: Will publications be kept if the author deletes them?
A: Yes. Offline copies stay with you.
Q: Can separate feeds be combined by topic?
A: It depends on the source. For example, arXiv provides feeds by category: https://export.arxiv.org/rss/cs.AI and https://export.arxiv.org/rss/q-bio.GN. In any case, with folders and tags you can organise your workspace. Viewing by tag will show publications from different feeds.
Q: How do I move subscriptions from another app?
A: With an OPML file or through the import wizard. Details are on the page about moving subscriptions.
